You're not alone

Choose whatever helps right now.

If a life is in danger

Call the local emergency number, or ask someone nearby to call. If you have already hurt yourself or taken something dangerous, call now, even if you feel all right.

Where are you right now?

Help numbers depend on the country you're in, not on the site's language. We never ask for access to your location.

What you can do right now

  • If anything nearby could be used to hurt yourself, put it out of reach or ask someone to stay with you.
  • Message someone you trust: “I’m having a hard time. Can you be with me?”
  • You don't have to solve everything now. Getting through the next few minutes is enough.

Talk to a person

If you're having thoughts of hurting yourself or of not wanting to live, call a support line. They will listen without judgment. You can also call when things simply feel too heavy.

Choose your country above to see its support lines. Lines in many countries are also listed in the Find A Helpline directory.

Minor Arcana · Pentacles

Five of Pentacles

Two people walk through falling snow past a lit window: a hard stretch, with warmth close by that is not easy to reach for.

By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict

It is fine to pause here. Turn toward a lamp or a window, or put something warm over your shoulders, and let one out-breath be long.

The image is hidden. The card's name and text stay on the page.

Image and meaning

Snow falls at night, and two people make their way through it, heads down. Just above them a window glows gold, though neither seems to look up. The card can reflect a rough stretch: practical worries, tiredness, a sense of being left out in the cold while others are warm. It is not a judgment of you. Help can feel out of reach when shame makes asking difficult. And the two of them are walking together.

Light and shadow

Support. You do not have to walk through the cold on your own.

Worth noticing. Shame that makes asking for help feel harder than going without.

A gentle step

Reach for one source of warmth today, a person, a service or a hot meal, before trying to solve everything.

Gently. If practical worries are pressing, a trusted person, an advice service or a professional can help with what a card cannot.

Across areas of life

Relationships
Leaning on each other when times are tough, or feeling outside a circle of warmth.
Work
Strain and uncertainty that make it difficult to think beyond today.
Resources
Practical worries narrowing attention, and help that is close but not yet asked for.
About you
Shame about struggling, and the kinder view that a hard time is not a personal failure.

Questions for yourself

Where is help close by, even if asking for it is not easy?

What kind of support would feel easiest to accept at the moment?
