You're not alone

Choose whatever helps right now.

If a life is in danger

Call the local emergency number, or ask someone nearby to call. If you have already hurt yourself or taken something dangerous, call now, even if you feel all right.

Where are you right now?

Help numbers depend on the country you're in, not on the site's language. We never ask for access to your location.

What you can do right now

  • If anything nearby could be used to hurt yourself, put it out of reach or ask someone to stay with you.
  • Message someone you trust: “I’m having a hard time. Can you be with me?”
  • You don't have to solve everything now. Getting through the next few minutes is enough.

Talk to a person

If you're having thoughts of hurting yourself or of not wanting to live, call a support line. They will listen without judgment. You can also call when things simply feel too heavy.

Choose your country above to see its support lines. Lines in many countries are also listed in the Find A Helpline directory.

Minor Arcana · Pentacles

Six of Pentacles

A figure holding a level scale lets coins fall into open hands: giving and receiving in a measure that feels fair.

By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict

The card Six of Pentacles: a drawing from the 1909 deck in a velvet frame
The 1909 deck after drawings by Pamela Colman Smith (public domain).

Image and meaning

A standing figure holds a balance scale level in one hand and lets small coins drop into the cupped hands of someone kneeling. A second person waits nearby, hands held out. The card mirrors exchange: who gives, who receives, and whether the balance feels fair. Generous giving can still have limits. Receiving deserves dignity too, whether it is help, a compliment or simple attention, which costs nothing and often matters most.

The suit of Pentacles: body, work and resources.

Light and shadow

Support. Help that moves both ways, and the dignity of receiving.

Worth noticing. Rushing to repay every kindness before you have let it land.

A gentle step

Accept the next small kindness with a simple thank you, without hurrying to return it.

Gently. Giving within your limits is still generous; care that empties you leaves less for everyone, you included.

Across areas of life

Relationships
Care that flows both ways, and noticing who usually gives and who receives.
Work
Mentoring, sharing what you know, and fair recognition of effort.
Resources
Sharing time, skills and attention within limits that keep you steady.
About you
Letting yourself receive help, rest or a kind word without explaining why you deserve it.

Questions for yourself

Which is easier for you, giving or receiving, and what makes the other harder?

Where in your life does the exchange feel fair, and where does it feel lopsided?
