Minor Arcana · Cups
King of Cups
A king sits on a stone throne above choppy water, cup in one hand, scepter in the other: calm amid strong feeling.
By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict

Court card
It can be read as a role or a side of you. The King is steadiness and responsibility that can be carried calmly.
Image and meaning
The waves stay below the throne. A ship with red sails rides the sea nearby, and a fish-shaped pendant hangs at the King's chest, as if the inner world could be worn openly and calmly. The King stands for the ability to feel strongly and still respond steadily, neither swept away nor shutting the feeling out. It can be a quality in you or a role: the person others turn to when things get rough.

Light and shadow
Support. Kindness that holds its warmth under pressure.
Worth noticing. Treating calm as the goal in itself, even when a feeling needs to be heard first.
A gentle step
When a strong feeling rises, take one even breath before answering and ask which response you would still stand by tomorrow.
Gently. Holding things together for others matters, but your own feelings do not have to wait their turn forever.
