Minor Arcana · Swords
Ace of Swords
A hand reaches out of a cloud, gripping an upright sword crowned in gold: a clear thought taking shape.
By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict

Image and meaning
The hand comes out of the cloud holding the sword point up, and clarity often arrives like that: a thought that finally names what is true, or a decision beginning to form. A clear mind is a real strength, and like any blade it cuts both ways. The two branches hanging from the crown, olive and palm by tradition, hint at a balance worth keeping: honest and kind at once.

The suit of Swords: thoughts and words.
Light and shadow
Support. Simple words for things as they are, and the steadier footing that naming them brings.
Worth noticing. The point where clarity tips into sharpness, often just when you feel most sure.
A gentle step
Write the thought in one plain sentence, then check it against the facts you actually have.
Gently. Seeing a situation clearly is not the same as knowing what others think; check that part before you speak.

Questions for yourself
What do you already see clearly, though you may not have said it yet?
How could you say it so that it is both honest and kind?
