Major Arcana · XIII
Death
A slow white horse and a white rose on a black banner: an ending in the way you live, not in life or health.
By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict
Close the card whenever you wish. If it helps, lay a hand flat over your breastbone and let each out-breath be slower than the in-breath.

Image and meaning
Despite its name, this card is not about anyone's life or health: it speaks of a way of living that has run its course. A role, a habit, a plan or an old picture of yourself may be coming to an end. The horse moves at a walk, and the banner carries a white rose, an old symbol of life. Sadness and relief can both be present at such a time, and neither needs hurrying.
Keywords

Light and shadow
Support. Permission to let go of what is finished, with thanks for what it gave.
Worth noticing. The urge to skip past an ending and move straight on to what comes next.
A gentle step
Write a short thank-you note to something that is ending for you, however small.
Gently. The card does not say a relationship, job or plan has to end; you decide what to let go of, and when.
