You're not alone

Choose whatever helps right now.

If a life is in danger

Call the local emergency number, or ask someone nearby to call. If you have already hurt yourself or taken something dangerous, call now, even if you feel all right.

Where are you right now?

Help numbers depend on the country you're in, not on the site's language. We never ask for access to your location.

What you can do right now

  • If anything nearby could be used to hurt yourself, put it out of reach or ask someone to stay with you.
  • Message someone you trust: “I’m having a hard time. Can you be with me?”
  • You don't have to solve everything now. Getting through the next few minutes is enough.

Talk to a person

If you're having thoughts of hurting yourself or of not wanting to live, call a support line. They will listen without judgment. You can also call when things simply feel too heavy.

Choose your country above to see its support lines. Lines in many countries are also listed in the Find A Helpline directory.

Two of Pentacles

A young dancer juggles two pentacles joined by a looping green cord while high waves roll behind: balance kept by moving.

By Tarot tradition: a mirror, not a verdict

The card Two of Pentacles: a drawing from the 1909 deck in a velvet frame
The 1909 deck after drawings by Pamela Colman Smith (public domain).

Image and meaning

A young man in a tall red hat dances on one foot, a disc in each hand, the two joined by a green cord in a sideways eight. Behind him, two ships ride high waves. Two demands at once, two roles, two needs: the card is about keeping things in motion rather than holding them perfectly still. Balance here is a rhythm, not a fixed point. A little lightness, even play, is also a way of coping.

The suit of Pentacles: body, work and resources.

Light and shadow

Support. Flexibility: a rhythm that works for now, even while the sea is rough.

Worth noticing. Measuring yourself against a perfect balance that no one manages to hold for long.

A gentle step

When two things pull at you today, give each one a set turn instead of switching every few minutes.

Gently. Handling a lot well is a skill, not a reason to keep adding more.

Across areas of life

Relationships
Making room for two needs at once: yours and the other person's, or closeness and space.
Work
Two projects or roles kept going by rhythm and priorities rather than by perfection.
Resources
Time and energy shared between demands, and noticing what keeps you light on your feet.
About you
Permission to adjust as you go, and to call a shifting balance good enough.

Questions for yourself

Which two things are you keeping in the air, and how is your body coping?

Where could a bit of play or lightness make the load easier to carry?

How to read this card

In the tarot tradition, for reflection. The card does not know the future and is no substitute for professional advice.

Card of the day

If you'd like some supportWindow of tolerance

The cards are a prompt to pause and listen to yourself. In the tarot tradition, for reflection: the cards do not know the future and decide nothing for you. The texts are for reflection and entertainment and are no substitute for advice from a doctor, psychologist, lawyer or financial professional.
